Digital Inclusion Program
The Digital Inclusion Program seeks to increase the access and application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within marginalized communities. The advancement of digital technology has created many opportunities, but it has also isolated communities with low digital skills and access to ICTs. Therefore, the program seeks to address the barriers preventing communities from participating in the digital age.
The project actions include:
- To design and execute a digital divide study in Belize
- To co-create a comprehensive digital inclusion action plan
- To establish a network of digital connect centers in rural areas and inner cities
- To conduct activities such as training and boot camps to upskill youths and women in digital skills
- To conduct activities to improve digital literacy, particularly for the elderly population
- To redesign the government’s informational website
