Online Government Integrated Cashiering System
The Government Integrated Cashiering System (GICS) is the Treasury Department’s official cashiering system used for revenue collection and receipting processes. Overtime, the Treasury Department outgrew the original platform and required a more updated system to meet its needs. Therefore, the Unit led the redesign and transition into a web-based application using more up-to-date software. Now, the updated GICS is a more user-friendly cashiering platform, it improves data sharing with Smartstream (Government’s application for finance, accounting and payroll), and it provides better administration and reporting by Treasury Departments across Belize.
